It's me, The Contented Kitty!
Hi All!
Thanks, Sheila, for starting this community! Hubby and I are going to start eating right and losing weight starting on Jan. 1. We have a get together to go to New Year's Eve, so we'll hold off until New Year's Day to start our new healthy way of life.
I have been going to Curves since August, but if you don't stop eating junk, you don't see a difference in your body. I do like the Curves workout, so I am looking forward to what it will do for me when I cut out the processed foods and and alot of sugar that I have been eating. I mean, really, buying peanut M & M's on the way home from Curves kind of defeats the purpose, and I have done that a couple of times!
We are going to follow South Beach because I really need some strict guidelines in the beginning. I have read his original book several times, and his newest book. I like the fact that it is not a low carb or low fat way of eating, just a better, healthy way of eating. I got out 3 of his cookbooks from the library, and I am looking forward to our new way of eating. I really don't think the South Beach diet is as strict as some people think it is, it really just cuts all the bad stuff out of our eating, and I truly am ready to do that!
Thanks again for providing a place for us to come together and chat about being healthy!

Hi Jeanie,
Thanks for joining our community. Invite everyone you know who wants to live a smarter life
I think you are thinking smart in the way you are looking at your life and diet. I have not tried the South Beach diet, but thought about it many times. Not so much for me, as I don't have issues really with weight or what I eat, but hubby does and in order to get him on track I need to get the whole family on track.
Curves is great! I would still be going if I didn't live an hour from there.
Can't wait to learn from you about South Beach, and to hopefully help you live a healthier, happier life.
