Looking for Excerise for folks with RA and fibro

Post by alwayscrafty2 on Mon Dec 29, 2008 5:07 pm

HI Looking for a low impact excerise program i can do in my apartment. I have fibromyligia as well as RA, hypothyroidism and other audio immune issues. I am looking for an excerise program i can do at home. I don't go out much and going someplace to excerise is just out of the question. I did water walking each day in the summer in our apt pool but it is drained now for the winter. I am deaf so any excerise progam i buy needs to be closed capitioned.
Thanks for any ideas or suggestions. I need to loose a lot of weight and also want to just get healthy. Oh forgot I have vertigo problems so I am a tad bit unsteady on my feet at times.

Sandi,

I will keep my eyes open for stuff that would work for you. I hope to put a fibro fit workout together and on dvd, but it wouldn't be closed caption so not sure if you would want it. It would have music and me doing some talking, but mainly just moves that I know help me with my fibro.
More of a low impact, slow moving workout. Mainly to keep yourself stretched and limber. Because with fibro we tend to be very sore and our bodies are tense, it helps to elongate those muscle groups daily.

Will keep ya posted Smile

Hi Sandi - I was going to suggest water classes, as my sister has fribro and she teaches the water aerobics/workouts at the YMCA near her. However, it looks like you are already doing those when weather permits. I will keep a look out for anything else that might be a good fit for you.
