Glueten Free Diet

Post by alwayscrafty2 on Mon Dec 29, 2008 5:01 pm

Hi my sister has celaic disease and she really thinks that I have the same disease. She asked me to cut out bread and pasta and see how i felt. My stomach issues have almost gone away. Not to bad for 5 days bread free. Anyways going to head to the drs after the 1st of the new year to get tested but until then i am doing some research on how to eat gluten free. Any ideas or suggestions are welcomed.
I have a lot of weight that needs to come off but no matter how little I eat I seem to gain weight. I have fibromyligia and other audio immune problems so the dr keeps telling me that is my problem.
Love to loose about 100 pounds in 2009 or simply get health and feel better.

Sandi,

I have heard of people doing that diet, but don't know anything about it. I am sure with surfing the net you can find tons of info on it, and when you do I would love to have you share it here.

I too have Fibro, and have never thought of cutting out the bread or pasta.. wonder if that might help some?

Yea i found a lot on the net and thought about you when i was reading it can help with fibro. Cutting our bread and pasta has helped alot but when one is toothless it is hard to find things to eat if i can't eat pasta or bread. Rice bread made me sick ,,YUCKY and so dry but going to try the gluten free pasta tonight and see how that works out. Dr appt is 3 months away so gotta figure this out before then.
hugs and thanks for such a great place to come!

Ok, since I am trying to educate myself on all types of healthy eating, can I ask what might seem like a stupid question? What is gluten? Since it is in bread and pasta, does it have to do with carbs?
