Winter Veggies/fruit that are in Season right now
Apples
pears
Squash
Brussle Sprouts
Potatoes
eggplants
Beets
Figs
Do you make meals with what is in season? those are the best time to eat them. They are full of flavor and you can get a bunch at low cost. If you have any meals that you make with these share them.
I am going to research some and see what I come up with that is HEALTHY.

There are a few on your list, that I have never tried. Not sure how to prepare them either. What do brussle sprouts taste like?

Oh, I don't think I will try them then. They don't look very good in the grocery store either.
I think a fig might be similar to a prune, but am not really sure on that.
I am on the hunt for some new recipes that are healthy and yummy, so that the rest of the family might eat them too. Most often now, I don't eat what they eat. I modify my food so that it is healthier.
The kids bought us a new fryer for Christmas (my dh wanted one) and he has been making things like chicken parm, etc. and I haven't eaten it. Well he made fried shrimp, fries, and rings the other night. The kids were disappointed that I haven't eaten anything made with their gift, so I had a little bit and my stomach was so upset all night. I don't miss the fried foods at all!

oh i hear you. Like fried foods totally make me sick. Some people have no problem eating it. But not me. IT makes me RUN for the potty. I do make the kids fried chicken strips sometimes but that is about it.
